Our Vision

The NC Friends of Agriculture Foundation vision is to maintain agriculture’s prominence as enunciated by George Washington, who wrote that he knew of “no pursuit in which more real and important services can be rendered to any country than by improving its agriculture,” and Thomas Jefferson, who wrote that of all professions, agriculture “is the first in utility, and ought to be the first in respect….”

In North Carolina, the total economic impact of agribusiness and related industries is $74.3 billion. Agriculture and agribusiness account for 18 percent of North Carolina’s gross state product and employ 17 percent of North Carolina’s workforce.
